This is one good book for people looking to improve their speaking skills and offers some tips on how to act and react in certain situations such as toasting and roasting. Both authors are very accomplished speakers and the books offer many small anecdotes on other people who have achieved success so that it may perhaps motivate them to speak better. It also shows you how to include techniques such as Humour in your speech so that its tasteful and is well-received. Overall, I would give this book 7/10 for its practical tips on public speaking and user-friendliness.

1 sentence: This is one damn good book! I read it from start to finish, mesmerised by the idea of economic hit men and how the most powerful country in the world, the United States of America, manipulates poor countries and wring them dry of their oil supplies. John Perkins is able to hold my attention throughout the book and I think it is due to his frank and honest style of presenting his story. This is one good expose that promises to lead you into the world behind the scenes of the Iraq war, the current situations in Equador and Idonesia. However I feel that it is quite sad that nobody is doing anything much to stop these greedy agendas, although John Perkins does try to do a bit, but against such a goliath enemy, I think it is going to be an uphill task.

Informative and interesting read. I give it 8.5/10! MUST READ! ;)

I've been eyeing this book for quite long, after since it hit the bestseller's list in major bookstores. This book is simply like lessons 'hidden' in a narrative story, like 'Who took my Cheese' and its like a typical Mitch Albom book. As the author progresses in his journey in life, lessons or questions start to hit him and he starts to question the purpose of his existence on this earth. The main character John (I'm not sure if its the author, but I'm thinking its just a marketing ploy), stumbles upon a mysterious isolated cafe after being lost from driving around the complicated US highways.

There, he meets Casey(the waitress) and Mike(the owner of the cafe), and he starts to question his existence on this earth. The three questions appears on the menu and he slowly uncovers his purpose on this earth with some help from Casey, Mike and some patrons in the cafe.

This book, in my opinion, will inspire people to question the very job they are working as now and motivate them to pursue their dreams, be it do volunteer work or settle for a more satisfying job that pays lower than their previous jobs. Some may deride this book as just a story that readers will forget and return to their 'normal' lives. This is how I feel too. After reading, it did not leave a much an impact I expected it to. The story was nice though!

I give it 6/10. (With 10 being the best score) Interesting story and approach but needs more bite so that it leaves a better impression on people.
